Enjoy a day by the Hawkesbury River enjoying the wonders of local native birds. Our day begins catching a glimpse of the local species along the river - maybe spoonbills, wood duck and plover in the company of a Hawkesbury River bird expert followed by a morning tea at the Hawkesbury Duck workshop space. Learn simple techniques for painting Australian birds in watercolour under the expert guidance of Central Coast artist and designer Leonie Loewe. Capture the essence of one of our beloved Aussie icons and explore some modern watercolour techniques to create interesting texture, giving a fun twist to our feathered friend. You will take away your own beautiful artwork and the skills of capturing Australian birds in stunning watercolours. No previous skills needed - watercolour paints and all materials will be provided. Morning tea, lunch, and an afternoon reviver included.

Central Coast artist and designer Leonie Loewe has a passion for Australian native Flora and Fauna, and is constantly 'Inspired by Nature'. With a focus on watercolour as her medium of choice, she loves painting what she sees around her. Her designs have been featured nationally, in magazines including Cleo and NW, and featured on advertising for native products. With over 15 years’ experience in teaching adults, she loves sharing her wealth of knowledge with one on one and group classes.
